New State Delegations
About the conference on national affairs
YMCA Youth In Government (YIG) is one of largest civic engagement and model government programs in nation, with 50,000 student participants representing their schools and communities each year. The program culminates at the YMCA Conference on National Affairs, or CONA, held the first week in July at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Each YMCA YIG State Program sends a delegation of outstanding students to CONA to represent their program. Delegates to the conference research, write, and present a proposal on a policy issue of national importance or serve as members of the press.
