In order to offer a Virtual Conference in 2020 we will need the support of over 100 volunteers. Read the descriptions below and fill out the Application if you are able to contribute your time.
Volunteer Job Descriptions
Zoom Technician: A good volunteer for Zoom Technician doesn’t need any previous Youth In Government experience. They do, however, need to be an experienced Zoomer. They will be the “host” of certain meetings. They will make sure everyone who is supposed to be in the meeting is present. They are there to make sure that there are no Zoom issues during the meeting; if issues do arise, they are responsible for solving them when possible or escalating to the technical team leads or conference staff. Time commitment varies based on what meeting you are assigned to. Time Commitment: 2-4 hours plus training.
Committee/PSG Advisor: Youth in Government experience is required. Attend the committee meeting or PSG you’re assigned to. Ensure that Y Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are upheld by delegates and adults in attendance. Be able to answer or redirect questions about procedures that arise. Time commitment varies based on what meeting you are assigned to. Time Commitment: 2-4 hours plus training.
**Committee/PSG Advisors must be 21 Years of age or older and have graduated high school before 2016.**
Social Activities Advisor: This volunteer doesn’t need any previous Youth In Government Experience. They will be in the Zoom social activity and make sure that the Y Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are upheld by delegates and adults in attendance. Specific responsibilities depend on the activity. Time commitment varies based on what meeting you are assigned to. Time Commitment: 2-3 hours plus training/prep.
Info Depot/Help Desk: CONA experience is required. Must be able to field all sorts of questions about Zoom meetings, meeting schedules, and contact information. Time Commitment: 4 hours or more plus training/prep.
